Short Film

In early 2005, China Here And There were introduced, by North West Vision, to Candella Films of Manchester. We subsequently submitted a Lottery Funding application for Organisational Development, and our application was successful. We then worked in partnership with Maria Artiles and Susannah Wright, of Candella Films, and with eight members of the Manchester Chinese community, to produce our first short film, The Flower Chamber.

Our present plan is to continue working with Candella Films and members of the Manchester community, to produce a second short film.

Looking further ahead, we will be working also with our contacts in the mainland China film-making community (particularly with our colleague and friend Jiang Xiaohan), to collaborate on a longer production coinciding with the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
